We develop optimal solutions for our customers’ requirements in the high-tech sector.
Since our founding, research and development have been an integral part of our enterprise. We focus on the needs and wishes of our customers, while keeping our eye on future trends. Step by step, we have expanded our networks, and today we work in partnership with various scientific institutions and numerous production companies. As a result of these efforts, we are able to provide our customers with the best solutions.
Schmuhl Faserverbundtechnik GmbH & Co. KG won an award at the 10th Automotive Award Night in Düsseldorf, for our innovative achievements in research and development in the field of RTM One-Shot technology, and for its implementation in a car door suitable for series production.
In fact, even narrow gap dimensions and high-quality structures and surfaces are state-of-the-art in Schmuhl’s fiber composite manufacturing. Our production meets the rigorous high-standards of automobile engineering.
We have shown that it is possible to manufacture a monocoque using the RTM process as a homogeneous component that meets all requirements
Crane cab exterior and interior, in a multi-material mix of CFRP, GFRP and thermoplastic – with design optimization and layout
While the snow groomer cabin has an intricate design with many technical complexities, we successfully developed, among other things, an A-pillar solution that is suitable for traffic. While also meeting the minimal installation space requirements, we were able to begin series production resulting in reduced costs vs a pultrusion production.
Why the challenging projects for medical bed systems on our table should be on our desk:
We were the first to succeed in manufacturing an MRI bed using the RTM process, thus paving the way for a significantly higher degree of geometric freedom – which simultaneously led to a reduction in rework and in lower costs.
Over time, we have achieved success on projects with ever-higher degrees of complexity. Today, we are one of the leading manufacturers of MRI and CT beds, supplying our customers from our plants in Germany or China.
Past experience has proven that it is particularly advantageous for our customers if, from the very beginning of the product conception, we have a close, collaborative partnership that goes beyond the customer-supplier relationship. This makes it possible to exploit the full technical potential of fiber composites, while taking cost factors into account.
For this reason, it makes sense to work together in partnership right from the design development phase. This allows for the implementation of creative new solutions and design approaches, including optimal design and use of materials and culminating in the best possible production and delivery, and all according to our clients’ requirements and specifications.
